proposal for jarvan ult rework
since it has come up a lot, i thought id share my ideas about how to make jarvans ult feel like an actual ultimate without making it downright broken. the main grief jarvan mains seem to have with the ability, is that a major portion of the champion pool can hop over the wall in an instant, making it nothing but a glorified damage tool.
on the other hand, it seems very binary in that the ability feels like it has no counterplay other than flashing out of the circle for champions with no inbuilt mobility tool.
so here are my personal thoughts about evening out the playing field.
- increase the size of the circle to give more room for trapped allies and eniemes to move around within the arena (maybe even as large as veigars e)
- split up the wall into 4 segments, where each of the wall segments has a set amount of hitpoints (3 to 4) and can be destroyed by auto attacks (similar to yoricks new w), to allow a champion trapped in the circle to escape through that hole.
- make the wall impassable for movement abilities, similar to how azirs ult works. the only way to get out is to destroy the wall, or to defeat jarvan and kill him
- adjust the ult damage however necessary
this would give mobile champions and low mobility champions equal counterplay to the ability while at the same time not making it feel entirely useless against a large portion of the champion pool
