Why do people have records like 2 wins - 50 losses?

I like to look up my games on lolnexus. There is a very high number of people with crazy ranked records like I mentioned in the title. I just started playing ranked myself since years ago, and I'm 0-5. Not sure if I'll end up losing 50 and only winning 2 or not. Just wondering if those people do it on purpose? There's a whole lot of them too, it's like at least half the people I play vs with rankd games in their account that have these crazy high loss rates. What's up with that?

there have been cases of smurf accounts intentionally losing to tank to B5 to climb back up to there ELO, usually there banned however.

on OCE there are several past seasons diamonds/plats currently in bronze, if that doesn't scream account sharing/boosting then d0g have mercy.

I don't know why but I can never win on vayne in ranked. But in normals I can win with her.

I think I still have a win rate below 40% for ranked. I was mid-tier gold last season but this season has been complete hell. No intentional feeding, no verbal abuse, just 100% unadulterated loss.

This seems to be the case for the first few months of new ranked seasons. Give it to about April and ranked will be a lot better since everyone who has not played in 5+ months because they were waiting for the new season will have rejoined and gotten back into things. Last season I legit had a 40+ losing streak over all queues types (I ignored remake victories of course). I played ARAM, BLIND, DRAFT (Ranked and Normals) etc... lost any game I played in for over 40 consecutive games. This was last January -> February. I finally broke out of it by one-tricking Jhin as much as possible.

I feel like in many cases it's just lolnexus not updating properly, rather than people actually having such atrocious winrates. I have a winrate over 50%, but I've occasionally looked myself up on lolnexus and it's like 5-120 or something.

Some people are pretty rough its true (sometimes due to inting smurfs, others just being that bad), but in the vast majority of cases I suspect if you looked them up on op.gg and forced an update you'd find they had more reasonable winrates.
