Possible Teambuilder Matchmaking Balance Issue(s)

Can I just say that there is something seriously wrong with teambuilder matchmaking when two level 30s with 300-ish wins each get placed with a bunch of really low level players, just because a RL friend of the two high level players wants to play league with them? I have NEVER played a game that was EVER like this. Double support champions bottom lane; I, Sona, intending to be the carry, and then MUSTACHE MAN Braum, of all people, carries the game with zero deaths. We were even MISSING a player from the very beginning. This game made me feel REALLY bad. While I would be lying if I said that we didn't have fun, this kind of matchmaking system behavior isn't fair for ANYBODY. I don't even think anyone on the enemy team knew how to surrender.

This sort of matchmaking has been happening to the three of us in teambuilder non-stop, but usually in the enemy's favor and never this bad no matter who's side. Even when we aren't playing with the third, level 14 player, we keep getting matched up with a few below level 30 players in every game. If our ELO is being penalized because we're playing with a friend who hasn't played league as much, and then being matched with other, low level players who aren't as good at the game yet, then the system is really lacking in this regard.

I came on here for the first time JUST to say that this needs to be fixed, because I'm sure smurfing would give pretty much the same results.

Well, it is true that matchmaking is hard to balance with a finite number of players. Its true that LoL's is really big, but its also true that not everyone is the same level. Do you think it's better for them to not possibly even get into a match because there's no one their "level" in queue at the time or have to wait an incredibly long time for. If you're low level, you should know you will need to "learn" still and if you expect to already be dominant... well it will be a nice slap in the face to show you that you have a lot to learn still. I will admit that the matchmaking system isn't perfect, but I still say its better to get into a game and actually be able to PLAY then just idling in queue waiting for someone "your level" to appear. Playing against better people has a lot more advantages for you then the other way around, as it allows you to practice against something that will give you a challenge. It allows you to learn a lot more then if you were just completely dominating the other player because you don't really need to go over the top for someone you can basically walk on.

Sorry if it sounded like I was mad. Just trying to give a counter argument. Also come back to post more. Its always good to get new blood :p.

Being a new player and having had to play against players that have more game knowledge, skill, runes, masteries etc., I feel that NoMonku's opinion that it is good for new players to face the challenge is just wrong. It is demoralizing and useless to train new players this way. Especially players that don't have a team of friends they know and love who treat them well no matter what happens in a game. This game is supposed to be fun and it can be if properly matched. Unlike the game played by bamboy and Crett. I have also experienced these games but I wasn't the one having fun.

This is the first time that it occurred to me that these high level players are as much a victim of the matching system as myself. I just envisioned the heavy weight champs having fun beating up the lightweights as some sadistic flaw in the psyche. So now I know they don't want to play us either.

Please Riot fix this problem and let us beginner players grow up with less pain. I am sure there are droves of players that just quit playing because it is too hard and painful to learn the game. That is not good for Riot.
