WHY WILL TALYIAH BE BAD

This why i think talyiah will be bad when she comes out (note that this isn't intended as an offence to riot or anyone that likes talyah this is just my own opinion). Although her ult is greatly designd and i love it as an ability the whole champion doesn't really have a great gameplay. She is a mage that limits herself by using her abilitys(her q).How does she teamfight if she has to move only to be usefull and whle the point of mages is to stay safe. And if you really think about it her q is her only REAL damage source. What mid lane mage has 1 ability that does some real damage. Please tell me if you can think of another reason why she will be bad or if you think that i'm wrong tell me why in the comments. Thanks for reading!

She limits herself because her Q is bonkers when unlimited - it's freaking 420 + 120% AP damage on 4 second cooldown. If she could too easily get to much procs from non-worked ground in TF, she would be highest DPS mage by far, despite having non-damage ultimate. Taliyah is not meant to spam triple-damage Q's, but to get 2, maybe 3 of them in a long fight. If you land that, you barely need another damage source really.

I think people have the wrong idea about her Q, which is understandable because she is very new. She is actually so new that people still really haven't figured out the best way to counter her in the way that most people actually are playing her currently. You are right that she limits herself. So far in a lot of the gameplay I have seen of her, people are constantly working new ground in order to try and get off as much damage as possible, practically filling up the lane with worked ground. When people start to figure out that she practically zoning herself off of that space they will start to pressure her onto worked ground or out of lane because at best she can do minimal damage. Basically, the more worked ground you have, the less of a threat she becomes.

If instead people would use very few patches of worked ground to deal less damage in order to farm and poke, you will have a much better time with mana sustain early on, and you can maintain your lane presence because you can easily move to new ground in order to deal greater damage.

As for her other abilities. They aren't as good for damage, but they are not really all that bad either. For the most part I look at her traps as assassin counters. Most assassins have gap closers and this ability will prevent them from feeling as safe to use those to engage on her. Her knock-up/displacement ability is good to counter engages and escapes. They don't really need to deal as much damage because they provide more situational utility.

Ultimately, I think she looks like she will be a lot of fun. I just don't think people know her well enough yet.
