Heimerdinger: What is this counter-play that you are speaking of?

As much as I hate mid Zed, I've yet to seen any champion that lack as much counter-play as Heimerdinger.

You can't out push him. Your poke can't reach him. You can't gank him, he'll at least trade a kill. How is his turret remains active and he's able to control them while being dead? That doesn't make any sense. The only weakness is his lack of mobility, which he can somewhat make up after the lanning phase finished, which he can not lose. Not to anyone that's not Syndra. Oh, did I mention Syndra just got gibbed recently too?

Riot talks about counter-play all the time but I don't see how you can counter-play this champion apart from counter-picking him. He's like the mid-lane Rumble. Occasionally picked but pretty much dominates his lane most of the time, unless he meets a counter. Not calling a nerf but I want the opposite player to at least have a chance to fight back. His lane bully is really out of control.

Heimer only wins lane. His teamfight isn't that good. Xerath and LB wreck him.

Heimerdinger is all about turrets and an early advantage. If you let him get all his turrets up, he will punish you for it. The counterplay is to kill his turrets as he creates them. Ranged AA - during the turret attack wind-up so they can't hit you - are always a good start. Remember that Heimerdinger's passive gives him regen - poking him isn't exactly effective. The best way to poke him is to kill the turrets - almost any ranged ability will do - they are squishy. The regen passive isn't quite as good with his turrets, as it takes less time to force them out of lane than it does to force Heimerdinger out of lane. Also important is that himerdinger is really bad at farming if he doesn't have his turrets up. The rockets don't do much until he gets some AP. Again, kill the turrets.

I guess that what I am trying to say is to attack the turrets. Unless you are playing a champion like Fizz (who has no business mid lane anymore) without a ranged ability, you have your counterplay. If you can choose between killing a turret and killing a non-cannon minion, choose the turret (unless he has three down... at that point, all you can really do is wait for him to go back).

I hope this helps.

Heimer is not that hard to play against. Hell I beat a top dinger with Trundle rather easily...
