Oblivion Orb too expensive in my opinion

Hi, I was just wondering while building Morllonomicon there is Oblivion Orb under it for 1600 gold which.. is too overpriced in my opinion.

When this much gold is needed for Oblivion Orb there is not really a point of building Morellonomicon not even in MID-game. I don't even see morellonomicon that much even though it's a pretty good item but man that Oblivion Orb for 1600.. that just hurts my eyes. Honestly I would rather buy a B.F. Sword to have extra basic attack damage rather than oblivion orb.

Will Riot do something about this item ? [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Magic penetration is an extremely powerful stat early/mid as it affects damage coming from most spells, that are the main source of damage for a lot of champions.

To compensate with plain AP the effect of 33 magic pen (boots + oblivion) against a lvl9 ranged champion (33.4 MR), you'd basically have to buy a Rabaddon.

Efficiency decreases over time but it's still relevant even with a 1600 cost mostly calculated to be sure you won't have it too soon (like we had before, resulting in a true damage dealer rampaging all the squishies before they could even prepare for it).

I would prefer if it gave grivouse wounds instead of magic pen and had oits price droped to 1200g or 1300g so AP user had an easier time get grivouse wounds like how AD champs can get item 3123 for 800g

It should be like this. Back when it had more Ap and less cost every mage ever would purchase it right after their Ludens and Sorc Boots for 33 flat magic pen, a shit ton of Ap, CdR, Mana, Healing Reduction.

It is supposed to be a niche item you only purchase when you need healing reduction. With flat magic pen and being cheap everyone and their grandmother purchased it.

Oblivion Orb is around 90% gold efficient with the stats for the cost you get it at. So, it is a little bit overpriced. It's this way for a reason, though. The combination of stats given by Oblivion Orb are super duper strong for early laning as well as early/mid game in general, so if the item was exactly gold efficient for the stats it gives, it'd probably be the first pickup by almost literally every magic damage champion, because it would outclass all other damage options in almost every scenario, with some health to boot. It's a similar way with zeal and a few other similarly priced items that offer nothing other than a strong section of stats.

ye if the enemy doesnt have a lot of healing i prefer going rabadons or something else than morellonomicon

People here complained that the item was broken It is surely expensive , but not gonna lie , it was so good as a rush on some champions , sadly most of mages had to suffer from this nerf because 2 or 3 mages abused it.

What??? When you buy item 3916 there is basically 0 reason to build into item 3165 unless there is a good amount of healing on the enemy team so how is that too expensive??? Like if anything it needs a nerf.

It was nerfed for a good reason, double magic pen with Boots and it was bonkers
