Promotion and Demoting With the New Ranked System
With the implementation of the new ranked system it has come to my attention that players can be demoted for losing games on their off roles but can not be placed into promotional games on other roles when winning a game on their off role. Riot wanted to add the positional ranks to make it more beneficial to the individual player to play their main role and climb easier, but at the same time you get punished on your main role if you lose on your off role. The fact that a player can win on their off role and get 100 LP on their main role and not be placed into promotional games is a bit baffling to me, this means that the player has to then play another game on their main role and hope to win just to qualify for those games, and with the way the new system works there is a chance you get players who don't want to try to win the game because they too are placed on their off role. I do think this is a bit of a out of line system. I think it would better benefit the player if both of these were true situations or if neither of them were true, If a player could be placed into promotional games through other ranks and also be demoted I think that is OK, or if a player could not be placed into promotional games and not demoted I also think this is OK as well, but I fell that having one and not the other provides a double standard that negatively impacts the player and makes them not want to play other roles because there is a chance they lose progress on their main. I don't think that once the player reaches 100 LP on their main role that playing on their off role should grant them any wins in the promotional games but I do think that getting there should award the player the chance to promote to the next rank. I think there are many pros and cons with the new ranked system and as it currently stands, my personal opinion and that of many other players is that this is one of the biggest issues with the system so far.
