Y'know, the Reworks so far ain't all that bad.

Yes, quite a few were OP and dominated the meta, but I think it's reasonable to say that many of them were due to raw numbers (or being Mordekaiser) rather than poor design. Many have better design than they had before and make the champs more engaging. Even champs that receive mini-reworks like Veigar benefited.

Allow me to show you what I mean.

Veigar -Had insane mana problems to make him weak early, essentially making his early game unfun as you have 0 options outside of farming. -Stun was essentially an awkward point and click, making it weird to use and unfair to play against -Ratios were so high it could be impossible to survive if Veigar survived laning -Point and Click abilities meant he had to suffer from low ranges, a long delay on W and high CD. Also meant he was a single target nuke and that's it, making his gameplay one-note and his strategic worth questionable.

What happened when he was reworked? (including recent changes)

-Ult Ratio reduced and Q + W base damages reduced, making it easier to survive Veigar's burst, allowing room for Veigar to have lower Cooldown's so he isn't as one-note. -Q becoming a skillshot and E gaining a delay meant there was room to avoid Veigar's damage, allowing him to gain range and keep a high level of burst. -The Added counterplay meant Veigar could gain some QoL buffs to make him feel smoother (E stopping dashes, W and E delay starting before cast etc)

In other words, the reworks help give Champions more nuanced kits, allowing Riot to give them qualities like range, CC or utility to give them extra options, allowing Champions to have a stronger strategic worth, and allows future balancing to be easier.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about when it comes to Mordekaiser. A free downvote from me.
