Warding/Vision feels bad right now

Hi all,

With the removal of green wards, the nerfing of Sightstone, and the changes to trinket wards, I'm really beginning to feel the effects of significantly less vision overall being placed in games, and it's frustrating me. As a mid laner, the trinket changes are hitting my hardest.

In S5, the second I had a spare 250g at base, I would upgrade my yellow trinket and feel that I had sufficient vision to be aggressive in lane and protect myself. However, the new "auto-upgrade" trinkets scale significantly worse in terms of duration/cooldown than the previous ones. This leads me to feel exposed pretty much half the time when laning (at least on one side), even if I put up a pink.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is why games feel more snowbally - because people are making bad, less informed decisions and lead to quicker game decisions.

What do you guys think?

I think you are right, but unfortunately it is working as they intend.

They want total vision control out of the game. You can see the effects of it coming from the LCS. The big complaint this LCS was what?

"These games are boring, the teams just rotate around and farm, and never fight."

What made that possible? the high level vision control from trinks, sightstones, and green wards.

A clear effort is going into making the map dark. They have admitted this (don't have a link, but they mentioned "to much of the map is lit up" in pre season notes multiple times.)

You can see this in the vision nerfs, and sweeper upgrade giving ten freaking seconds to sweep out wards.

But as a fellow mid laner and sup? I hate it too. It feels like I cannot keep up any sort of competent vision against ganks without backing and losing EXP. Even once you get sight stone, 3 wards isn't enough to truly protect your team, which is what they want. It's a deep ward, two objective/anti gank wards and your dry. You can push it a bit with your trink, but it still feels like your fucked.

I think the Meta is going to evolve to essentially force a sightstone on the Jung and maybe top lane. Just not enough vision to keep carries safe right now.
