I personally never believed the promo conspiracy as it has never affected me, but now I have experienced it first hand. Never would I thought while queueing into my promos to diamond after a 4 game win streak, I'd get a complete fresh player that just placed gold 1 after his placements. Meanwhile, the other team are all people on huge winstreaks and positive win rates. Did I mention all my teammates winstreaks were barely 50%? What a joke
i dont get why "high elo" players never beleived it when this is exactly what has been happening at silver MMR for years. and yes there is a fucking diffrence between bronze games and gold/high silver games.
Being woefully new to LoL, I'm not sure if I'm experiencing something similar as I'm not daring to try to get into any kind of Ranked games.
But after I hit Summoner Level 30 I suddenly found myself playing in SR games with Summoner level 100+, Summoners with 100k+ Points on individual champions, games where my skill level is massively below the skill level of others and quite often it's probably better for everyone on my team if I just quit the game instead of feeding the opponents. At level 29, I was cruising along as a Miss Fortune main, getting stats like 20/10/5 on a regular basis, winning about half the games. (not ALL my games were that good, but I was normally ending with noticeably more kills than deaths)
Hit Level 30 and BAM! A good game is now something like 1/10/11, I'm spending 5 straight minutes in game standing at my turret waiting for the Minions to come to me so I can farm them because the moment I leave the safety I'm getting ganked by the Laner and the Jungler (who weren't in the lane for that 5min, but were in Mid and watching for me to leave my turret so they can come gank me), etc. Games are being won at about the same rate (slightly lower, but not massively lower), but I'm barely contributing to them. The best I can say I'm doing is that I'm annoying their Laners and Junglers by playing so passively, and I'm forcing them to farm Minions instead of ganking Champions.
Yeah, I know I'm a newbie, and not all that skilled yet - but going from Level 29 to Level 30 was like falling off a cliff. It's like Riot was saying "Okay, you've had a few months of fun playing PvP, now it's time for you to go back to playing against Bots until you git gud enuf to play against real people again."
Well I mean, this new player averages 8 cs / minute when not playing support
Also a new player places Gold 1, sounds normal couldn't be a smurf at all

The freshly placed Gold 1 thing is a problem, but what do win streaks and win rates have to do with anything here? People on win streaks are not more likely to keep winning and vice versa in regards to loss streaks. People with a low win rate right now are probably more skilled than most at their current MMR but have just had some bad luck, if anything them being on your team makes you more likely to win, and again vice versa (high win rate people are more likely to lose). The problem is the exceptions, people who were boosted and now losing a ton and smurfs who are below where they should be and winning a ton. But as far as I know they are the tiny minority.

watch the win rates on enemy team 60%+ and urs are sitting at 30-50% when u get to an important promo.
im somehow hardstuck g1 (solo queue) this season with 200 games when it usually takes me 50ish games to hit plat every season.
(plat 4 in flex queue 19 wins, but no one counts that.)
If they have diamond 4 MMR they will end up in Diamond 4 games.
