Is it worth to get Kennen with IP or just save up?

With the new patch he got, he seems as though he could be a viable top/mid laner. Thoughts? Should I save up for a different champion or naw?

No champion is worth your RP. I like to think of it this way - get the champion with IP and if you are good at the champion reward yourself with a skin for it.~~

EDIT: nvm. Yes, get Kennen while he's strong.

Kennen is pretty solid once you get his combos down. And with his recent buff, his initiation is pretty top tier imo.

Kennen is overall really strong, he just doesn't snowball too well, and imo he isn't the best for carrying solo que.

Let me add on to this question. Should I get Kennen as a carry for solo q? What's the best person to get for this if not? He seems like he could really do well early and late game, so I thought I should pick him up for solo q.

He still sux for soloQ. He can't end and carry the game by himself even if he is terribly fed.
