I feel Runes Reforged unfairly got a bad reputation

I think the reason it got the reputation was because of the idea of the logical fallacie “Post Hoc”. The definition of Post Hoc is that “ If event B happened after event A, Event A must have caused event B to happen”. In League’s case I feel like blame came to the new runes because “ Season 8 became horrible after Runes Reforged was introduced, therefore Runes Reforged caused season 8 to be bad”.

The big reasons this season is so bad is because certain champs and items are so op that if you don’t pick them you lose, comebacks are near impossible, games are too short, damage is so high and there is nearly nothing you can do to counteract the damage, turrets feel useless, making the smallest mistake is way too punishing, and champions’ defense stats in the early game were not improved to make up for the loss of runes where you could give yourself as much armor/magic resist as you needed.

At least with this new system, someone is not better than you just because they put more time into rune pages rather than buying champions. Plus there are far more interesting choices with these runes. Think about it, some people may want the previous system back but you would always pick the same mastery path every time you picked a specific champion. Now I have to make choices like Gathering Storm vs Scorch or Conditioning vs Second Wind.

I admit some runes are pretty frustrating to face against but I feel that in this system, nearly every rune has a unique purpose that doesn’t get outclassed by something else.
