I lose 23 lp per game and gain 29 lp in 2 games, how am I supposed to climb?

I understand that if I go on a losing streak, my mmr should drop. However, my mmr went from gaining 20 lp per game to gaining 14 per game after going on a 5 game losing streak. Why is it so easy to gain and lose mmr? Please, make it so mmr changes less drastically.
