Matchmaking is really bad somewhat frequently

I noticed as I approached level 30 the matchmaking was really bad. The game was "which team has more level 30 players". The team with the greater lvl 30 player typically won. There are so many players who don't play a lot of normal matches but they play a few normals when they're showing their friends how to play. Their normal MMR is not a good reflection of their skill level.

Then once I started playing ranked all was well for a time. Then I reached bronze 5. Bronze 5 has a wealth of problems. First off there are players who are extremely bad. You know they'll never make it out of bronze 5. They have like 600 games in bronze 5 this season. Then you have players who are bronze 1 or silver V level of players who were just unlucky and are briefly visiting bronze 5. You talk about a wide range of skill levels at the highest MMR but bronze 5 might have a higher range of skill levels than master and challenger tier does.

Then (and this is what prompts me to discuss this problem in the forums) you have the good players who are not even bronze 5 players. I've played a few times recently against opponents who were like 27 wins and 2 losses on one champion but 2 wins 27 losses on another champion. Sometimes people think these players are getting boosted but since it's bronze 5 I think it's something else. You have players who just like to dominate a game from time to time so they keep a bronze 5 account and they lose, feed, or whatever to remain in bronze 5 where they can dominate games. So it hurts matchmaking both ways when they decide they need to lose so they don't promote in their series or whenever they decide to play their "main" champion who they always win with.

I reported him after the game but I don't think anything was done about it. How are you 48/4 on your main 2 champions but somehow you remain in bronze 5?

The matchmaking isn't bad on my normals. Initially when I reached level 30 I was winning like 30% of my games but gradually I'm climbing closer to 50%. I think it's pretty much where it needs to be. In ranked, I'm ok with being a bad player and playing with bronze 4 and 5 players but I do think that there are some changes that could be made (such as actually making wood 1-5 so bronze 5-3 wouldn't have such a glut of terrible matches. Pre level 30 there is a serious problem. I honestly don't know how I endured other than the fact that my brothers played which gave me some extra motivation to slog my way through those terrible matches.
