I got placed in Gold1. need a help

I was d4 in preseason. I had 6 wins and 4 loses and placed in gold 1. My friend was plat 2 and did 4-6 and placed in plat 4.
Can you confirm if this is a bug thnx.

difference in mmr probably.
That is what you get for doing all your placements the day it goes live.
It has been this way every single season and the people who wait a month tend to get placed higher then the people who do it on the first few days.

Yeah that's what it's always safer to wait to do placements a few months later. The day it goes live is always bad, you can get some of the worst matches and the placements will end up with you being somewhere you feel is completely wrong.
Personally I did my placements near the mid season last year and then finished climbing rankings about a month and a half before the season ended.
Like right now sites like op.gg tell me I can possibly be placed in Gold 1, and I've only ever been as high as Gold 4 so lololol to that one.

not a bug i believe, depends on who was in your teams and you played vs who
anyway you can't be placed higher than plat 1 and if you weren't boosted you will get plat/diamond easy
all my games i had, everyone was all diamond and few plats tho

If you were Dia, climbing out of gold should not prove a challenge for you.
unless of course there was something about the way you acquired Dia ELO that makes you doub't that you can do so again now that we no longer have a dynamic queue...
