Does Janna need to be made more skill based? Or any champion.

8/8 PBE Update

Don't get me wrong, i do think she needs to be nerfed by a good amount. But i don't like riot's direction with every champion, released and reworked. They make them require higher skill, for example Warwick Leblanc and Ornn soon to come. They are all complicated, yes good design and good combos. But they are slowly making every old champion as well a bit harded. I've even seen people ask Riot, when are we going to get a simple easy to get into champ. And that's where it lies with Janna. They are making her more skill based. But i don't want that, i want a champ as braindead as they are. So i can relax in normal and just fly around and actually play a game and not stress myself after work. So i'm asking to maybe jsut nerf her, as hard as you want, but don't make her or others more complicated. I was even recommending her to a friend, just to get into the game. Now i'm going to have to explain the combos when she doesn't even know how to move around.

What are your thoughts? Should riot keep making more skill based champions and turn old simple champs harder?

I like the new change. They took an old Soraka approach to her and made it so her playstyle isn't just disengage and added a risky aspect to it. Free to cast, and reduces cooldowns by two seconds so it encourages her to risk herself by running in and zephyring them, which opens her up to more opportunities to poke her down instead of trying to whittle her down from range as she sits in the back mindlessly shielding her ADC.

I agree with Nahui. Janna is the biggest offender, but Soraka can be too (depending on how you play her) in that they're very passive supports. Janna has basically no risk. You can backline, shield your adc (which buffs their autos as well), use Q's to prevent rushing threats, and Ult to save your adc from dives, healing them in the process.

With Soraka, sure you can be a generic healbot, but you're rewarded for being a bit more aggressive by Q:Starcall's relatively short range, long cast time, but regen buffs, speed buffs, and slows to the enemy. If you never throw, or land, a Q as Soraka, you won't keep your hp buffed enough to heal your adc when you critically need to.

By making Janna's W more useful, it encourages aggressive gameplay, considering it reduces all of her cooldowns, including ult. Well-timed rotations with Janna's W can bring your ult back into play much more often, allowing her to keep her allies alive, as long as you don't go too aggressive and try to throw a risky W that gets you snared and murdered.

It doesn't really increase her complexity, it just adds an extra layer of benefit for balancing your aggressive and passive support aspects.
