This ISN'T about the new Vlad
Look, I'm not going to get into all the problems with the new Vlad and his kit, the removal of Will of the Ancients, or his under-tuned numbers making him sit at a 39-40% win rate right now. (according to OP.GG)
What I want to talk about, is about why the old Vlad was reworked in the first place: The main reason being that having 2 "point-and-click" abilities (counting his old E) caused balance problems, buffing or nerfing his numbers would just mean him being too overbearing/miserable to play against OR unplayably bad.
---The issue with "point-and-click" is that there is no counter-play (If you are in range - you take damage.)
So now that that is out of the way, I have to ask why was the old Vlad "NOT OK" But THIS
Type of thing is? (Ranged auto-attackers)
So one might say: "Well.....Vlad had all that sustain and AOE Damage, and some Items to get him a bit tanky too!
"
But when you really think about it, ADC's CAN and DO the exact same thing: Sustain:
AOE:
even some Tankiness:
And lets not forget ~90% of their damage is from ranged Point-and-Click auto attacks.
Look, I know that in certain match-ups he was no fun or oppressive to play against once he got past his early levels, but if that's the main reason for changing him (and nerfing him....) it's honestly the exact same thing if not worse in most melee vs ADC match-ups (top lane particularly) all and all resulting in losing 1/4 to 1/3 of your life bar to autos every time you want to cs, while they proceed to heal off of their
/Vampirism/Warlords/Feast, Heck! even Life steal Quints or an early
are an option for them.
The only reason I can think of as to why Marksmen get the Riot "pass of approval" is because they are most commonly paired against other Marksmen, making is SEEM like they don't have the same balance issues as Vlad did because both marksmen are on more of an even-footing with each other conceptually.
#**TL;DR: ADCs can do what Vlad did. ADCs are apparently balanced design-wise and old Vlad was not?
