Match Making vs MMR

I'm generally really unsatisfied with league match making in ranked right now. I'm gold 2 right now. I stalk my MMR on op.gg because I'm trying to get to a point where I feel comfortable leaving it for the end of the season to be placed correctly in season 7. Why is it I went from being up 120 points to being down 100 over the course of ten games? I keep getting teams that feed constantly, indicated by the lee sin top I had my last game.

I consistently do the best on my team, but my MMR still plummets. Do you lose less MMR/LP on average if you do better than the rest of the team? I know LP loss goes directly off of MMR, but it seems unfair that I get tanked because the rest of my team does awful. It's ridiculous I went from a G1 MMR to G4 because I had god awful teams who couldn't tell their hand from their ass.
