MMR makes me sad...

I don't even know where to start voicing my frustrations with Riot. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this and the forum will be shut down almost immediately, but why can't I enjoy a normal game? Why do I have to play ranked to be matched with people that are my skill level? Sometimes I just want to sit down and enjoy the game, but I can't because I get matched with a team of 2 bronzes and 2 low silvers against a team of golds and possible even a platinum. Does this make any sense? Even if my MMR is low in normals, how does that justify the teams I have to play against? I've never been so frustrated playing this game before in my life. I shouldn't have to carry my team every time I want to enjoy a game. I should feel comfortable trying new champs and knowing the game will be even enough for me to keep a normal pace and have the game be perfectly fine... Rito plz...

I just don't think it's fair that I played ranked for months straight and made the climb to gold, but I'm still stuck in the MMR that I was when I hit 30 (and it fluctuates when I play with some of my lesser-skilled friends.) I just bought Kha-zix on sale and figured, "okay I'm gonna try him in a normal and see how it goes." But my team didn't know how to respond to invades or make simple map rotations, and I had no safety in my own jungle. I recognize it's not my team's problem if I fall behind on a new champ, but there was just zero vision or any attempt to stop the laning phase 20 minutes into a game. I don't want to be that guy to play new champs in ranked (and I'm far from doing that) but I absolutely abhor how Normal games are matched up.

Same with me. Having a Gold account then having Bronzes that are on my team vs. a team of Plats in not fun. When I voice my frustration its usually "Oh you just can't carry" No I can if my team wasn't acting like they were playing the game for the first time. I hate it. I just had a Shaco at support who thought it would be smart to start hid jungling by buying a pair of boots. Then after he doesn't ash for any leash's and gets counter jungled somehow it my fault. I just want people who are near my skill cap.

There is MMR for Ranked and MMR for normals. They are calculated exactly the same way.

What you are experiencing are people who don't play a lot of normals, but play a lot of Ranked, resulting in a higher Ranked MMR than normal MMR. There isn't much any system can do about that.

Ranked and normal mmr is separate. A bronze player and a challenger player could be the same skill, because the bronze player never played enough ranked games to climb up to challenger. That does not mean he does not deserve to be there.
