I am bronze 5 and I am trying

Wow that's a cheesy title. Whatever.

So I've been playing League for about three years now and the highest I've ever managed to get is Bronze 3. However, I also don't play that much ranked. I get placed and only play ranked once in a blue moon, then just kind of stop until the end of the season. I tried last season and did manage to get to Bronze 3, but this season I haven't had as much luck. I've been actively playing ranked but after playing for about four hours and losing every single game, you get a bit discouraged. However, I'm not giving up and honestly I have one goal and that is to get silver this season.

My biggest issue with ranked, and seems to be everyone's issue is that people are so toxic. It's gotten to the point where I just won't put up with it and just mute someone the second they say something toxic because no. Just. No. It makes the game unfun and it stifles me from wanting to try and get better at this game, which is something I really want. I certainly have improved in my time since I started playing and I like to think I'm not the worst at this game. I practice as much as I can, but it seems that whenever I get 60 lp, I lose 5 games in a row and lose it all. All of my friends are Silver or higher and it makes me feel a bit bad, but I really am trying.

If anyone reads this and has any tips to drop in the comments please do, I'd love to hear them.

  • you should duo with a friend.
  • if someone starts being toxic muting them is a good idea
  • watch some online videos of pro's playing the champion/role you play most.

Some advice.

Don't pay any attention to anyone else, don't let them phase you in the slightest. Your all Bronze for a reason. Don't play support in ranked (bronze), it won't get you anywhere. I'd say play lane bullies. Panth, Ren top, LeBlac, Kat, Syndra mid. Know what your objective goals are, ward for your benefit. Control wards in select bushes will prolly stay up the whole game. Split pushers like Fiora, Tryn, again ward for your protection cause I'm sure your team won't know how to maintain pressure to allow you to safely split. If you are truly better then bronze, grind away at it, you'll get out eventually. Don't bring TP top, bring Ignite to snowball your lane, after 1st back TP it'll be usless inless your good at TP flanks assuming your support even has a sightstone lol.

I'll probably bronze ranked this season if I ever play ranked, but I saw you play mid in a comment sooo here are my tips.

  1. In mid, ban the snowball assassins unless your going to pick one, and make sure you can play it if you are going to.

  2. Ask for an early gank to push the lane into your favor. Mid and bot are usually the junglers focus, because Kill mid= 4 man gank bot= tower or dragon.

3 Try to roam. Do this in ANY ROLE. (Adc might be the only exception, but after a while you might wanna rotate mid and try to take mid turret)(this is every Midlaners nightmare. One of them at least)

  1. remember to build defensively also. enemy have a Malzahar buy a qss. Playing a squishy champ likeEkko? builditem 3742 and item 3157 to survive until your clone is in position.

  2. There are times when you should back off. Tower at 200 health leave it. Dragon at 3000 health and 4 people from the enemy team come? If they have a jungler, leave it, try to keep them off it also.

  3. Runes. I still haven't done this sooooo.....

  4. Have fun

  5. Have faith in your teammates.

  6. Try and put your trust in off-meta things, like Ad TwistedFate orEvelynn , Bard Top, Shaco Ivern Xerath Teemo support and Evelynn mid or top. If they know what they are doing, the game could go extremely well.

Bronze is the easiest to get out of despite what people try and convince you otherwise.

Just pick a champ, main said champ. And let others know how you're going to play, don't try and force meta picks onto teammates let them go all assassins or tanks or all supports. Everyone plays their best when they're playing the champion they know the best.

I play shaco only (top / Support) and started in Bronze 3 this season and got out in about 20 games? im in silver 5 right now with my MMR sitting at 1.5k (gold) You should prioritize towers > killing champs out of position > Baron > drag.

Towers are global gold, no matter how well the other team is doing, getting towers helps your economy. I've been down 10 kills and still manage to win because we have tower advantage.

But first and foremost, Always have a positive attitude. If someone is negative, its best not to respond and just keep talking to the rest of your team. Make callouts and if you're feeling good, start BMing the other teams bad plays.

This game is psychological more than it relies on your mechanics. Play gimmicky champions that people rarely see, they wont know how to play against them.

I was in the same situation. I was doing terrible at ranked but, I found my niche and used it to escape bronze in about a month. My advice? Insta mute anyone who is being toxic, communicate through pings. It's what I did and it turned out fine. Another thing is one tricking. If you one trick a champ (Mine was Vi jg/ Riven top) you'll get far more used to those two champions and become a bit better and learn any of the combos and cancelling they can do. Just find your niche, spam it to get out. Don't let toxic people get to you, and don't get angry and give up. You can always come back. Just farm.

If you're in bottom bronze then you're likely doing A LOT of things wrong whereas silvers so many things wrong. This is my tanked alt acct used play with 2 RL friends who are just on maybe once a week so we dont get too hard of games. Can add me if you want but I don't use this acct too often

Looking @ your match history: Lux support is the support pick for people who dont support. Its on par with annie support for the low level of utility it gives and most of the time leaves your ADC to hang. Her AP scaling is crap if you dont have AP items and Q has a long CD so you're either doing little damage, unable to peel for the ADC or both.

On both Leo and Lux, STOP RUSHING RUBY SIGHTSTONE. Get the first level and leave it at that for awhile. The bonus HP and 1 extra ward charge isnt worth the cost and delay in your other items. Upgrade your support item much faster and get boots much sooner. Typical build goes something like: -Opening items -Level 2 support item, control ward -Sightstone, boots, sweeper -Finish support item -Redemption

Ruby sightstone usually is the last upgrade if you do get it at all. Often the sightstone is combined w support item for a lot of champs.

Ward where you want to go next. If dragon is coming up, ward there If you plan to take enemy tower, ward their tri bush and deep ward jungle to see if the jungler is coming to help from their side. Dont just ward a spot for the sake of "its the most commonly warded bush so I'll throw one in there to keep vision there just because"

Your build order also matters a lot. Dont just randomly go back when you have gold, go back when it makes sense. A few times it looks like you're shopping every 2 minutes, and build path is bad. IE iceborn gauntlet you get Sapphire Crystal to Glacial shroud then sheen then finish later. If you need defense, get the armor item first. The extra mana does nothing for you. If you want to push harder open with sheen. The armor and mana wont help you snowball to win harder.

  1. Pick Amumu or a similarly braindead high impact champion.
  2. The Jungle is one of the best roles to carry from, Mid being a close second
  3. Make sure everyone on your team is decently fed as well as you can
  4. Group and push.
  5. ???
  6. Profit!

Seriously, champions with high Team Fight potential who are easy and hard to mess up are GREAT for getting out of Bronze. You don't have much to mess up, you become the leader of the team the instant people see you making good plays (which will be easy on your selected champion), and as soon as you beging to group you are in an insanely better position than the enemy team (because 90% of Bronze players will take hard champions to play or champions that are VERY selfish and need to snowball to be useful). Champions like Amumu Annie Gnar (if you are good with Rage management) Kennen Maokai Malphite Nautilus are all really good for climbing.

Focus on Turrets. If there are no Turrets to be taken, focus on farm. If you can't farm, then you can focus on kills. Get the Dragons whenever you can. Don't risk yourself too much for Air Drake unless you're having to roam a LOT. Don't risk yourself too much for Ocean Drake unless it's the first one or you're against a siege comp with lots of poke. Don't risk yourself for Elder Drake unless you aced the enemy team and there are no objectives to be taken.

Just keep playing dude, you'll have bad games, everyone does, try to be consistent in your own performance and eventually climb regardless of how bad or how good you are. Pick a group of champions, (I'd go for two in each role and simply pick a role you want to main).

you're not really trying if you aren't putting in the games to build up your mmr the previous seasons otherwise you'd be where you wanted to be already.

I blame high elo players for your frustrations. They always make it sound like Bronze is easy to get out of. So when the rest of us find ourselves struggling in Bronze, we naturally think something is wrong and get tilted that we can't get out of this so called 'easy elo'.

The truth is my friend is a little more complicated. What higher elo players fail to do is make the distinction between escaping Bronze and LEARNING to escape Bronze. You see once you have learned how to escape Bronze then getting out is easy. But if you have never climbed out before you must learn how to and that takes time.

As easy as everyone would have you believe it is to climb out of Bronze, for someone that has never done it, you need to prepare to really work at it and I mean you need to put a lot of effort into it. It's not something you can do playing games here and there. You need to spend hours upon hours every day for months before you can learn how to beat Bronze. Last season it took me several months of constant playing, day in day out to escape. By the time I got to Silver, I had amassed over 1000 ranked games.

Now this season I can say that getting out is easy. I already learned how last season and when this season started, I was able to easily climb from B5 to B2 in the first week. I would already be Silver except that I made another discovery, I could only currently do it with my last season's main which was Kayle. I switched mains this season and find myself struggling in Bronze like I did last season. I realize now that the reason is because I didn't really learn to get out of Bronze in a general sense, I learned how to do it with a specific champ. Because of the large amounts of time I spent last season playing Kayle, I've learned how to win with her under a much larger variety of circumstances than I can with any other champion.

So what does this all mean ? You asked for tips. I have two. Prepare to play a lot and I do mean a lot of ranked games. And play the shit out of a single champion. Find a champion that you enjoy and just play that champion non-stop for several months. You should also avoid any tendency to blame your team because that will keep you from learning. Blaming others would prevent you from being able to look at yourself and your own mistakes. That is very important. It makes no sense playing a thousand games without learning anything. You need to be learning while you're spamming all these games. Also, look up tips on things like freezing, wave management, trading, rotating etc. Just learn as much as you can from other people on Youtube or streamers or whatever.

The point of it is this, getting out of Bronze is not something you can learn to do in a week. It takes dedication, a lot more than most people are willing to put in but it works. I did it so I know.

You can totally rise out of bronze with support. A friend of mine rode Leona from bronze all the way to plat within a single season.

The main thing is to concentrate on what you can do better, not what your teammates did wrong.

Yes, your teammates will lose you the game many times. But still, focus on how you could have been better. Then on average, your betterness will be the bit that turns the tide. Over time, you'll rise.

Instamute anyone who says anything negative. Don't type, just play.
