Can Caitlyn have the AP scaling back on her traps?

With the removal of the damage on caitlyn's traps AP caitlyn has been killed. You can say it was barely alive but it was still an alternate strategy people used. For example, Nihpia has over 1400 games with AP cait because its there favorite thing to play. Idk how an ap scaling on traps would break AD caitlyn, infact it could open a whole new build path of triforce. Overall the removal of the traps AP scaling seemed random and uneccessary, and killed an alternate strategy.
