Skarner Passive: Crystal Spire
Currently, when a team gains control over a spire location, the mini-map is instantly updated for both teams regardless of vision, changing the color of the spire marker.
This is good for Skarner and his teammates when their enemy captures a spire because it can reveal which side of the map the enemy jungler is or if they are invading. However, it is a double edged sword because it does the same for the other team. While I can understand the balance of this, it should be a benefit for Skarner.
The way it is now, I believe that it actually discourages Skarner from invading, or at least invading early. If he attempts to invade and takes the spire first, he is telegraphing his location to the enemy team, practically inviting them to collapse on him. As so, it is more intelligent for him to take the surrounding camps before collecting the spire, but then the only benefit his passive offers is bonus gold and a little extra movement speed to creep out.
I believe there should be two options for how this could be changed in order to be more healthy.
My less preferable option is that the spire marker on the mini map should change at a delayed time. The president for this would be Kindred's mark. When the marked camp is cleared, it remains on the mini map for a short time afterward. This would give Skarner some time to take an enemy camp before the enemy is aware of the invade. Alternatively, this allows the enemy to claim these spires on either side of the map without telegraphing their immediate location.
The more preferred option in my opinion would be to only update the indicator color when spire is spotted within your team's vision. This makes the most sense to me because I actually don't see why the enemy should get any update on spire control without having actually seen the spire for themselves. .. I suppose if we are trying to think of this logically, these "spires" are really tall, and they could be seen from across the map, .. but this doesn't make a whole lot of sense from a gameplay perspective.
