Why can he 100 to 0 people while also being one of the tankiest champions in the game? Where along the line did Riot say "We should make a tank that can also assassinate people". Are you going to give mundo asn execute and a blink next? Or maybe give malphite ap scaling off of Armor? Why not right?
I can't possible imagine how you lost to Garen as Renekton.
Garen is a champion with low mobility, low range, and little CC.
He needs durability to reach targets (assuming they can kite competently) during fights and he needs damage (since he provides little else).
I would suggest you look up the reasoning behind Juggernauts (of which Garen is one).
Just right click away from him...? Stop facetanking him...?
