So I got a message saying ill be placed in silver 1...
and that silver 1 is slightly lower than diamond 5..I guess what they say is true,diamond 5 is literally silver.

A message from who? I've never heard of Riot telling people where they will be placed lol
People who suddenly went from lower ranks at the end of season 5 to significantly higher ranks during the season of dynamic queue seem to be getting these messages telling them that they'll be placed closer to where they were last time there was a solo queue.
anything 5 is basically silver aka undetermined rank in your case sadly and humorously this includes bronze V as some of them are just on a tilt spree for one reason or another
I got a message this morning saying something about bronze five, queues I think..or placements...I dont know. I was so shocked at seeing "bronze five" that I clicked "ok" and went to see my profile to check if I'm still in gold. I got placed at s3 this season and grinded my way to gold 4 in a few days, just to get demoted to g5 1lp when I started to play with a friend of mine. She's also gold, but I guess she was just having a few...many..really bad games. My husband also made a ranked team with his bronze/silver friends and I did play two games with them (lost one/won one) so it ended the season in b5. The notification said something about other players being placed lower than they were. Like...really? I have a positive kda. I get Ss almost every game. I usually go positive in my losses too! (because as a supp main -thanks to male friends putting me there- I can't always carry). I'm a little worried about it. I mentally exhausted myself to get to gold to be DONE WITH IT so I can get that beautiful skin. I dont understand what the notification is about??
** Also...I've never been in bronze. Last season, my first season, I did placements and went to s3. Didn't touch ranked after that because I didn't think ranking was a big deal (noob me). This year, I tried to get to gold immediately after being placed (and got it) for that pretty skin. But I've just never been in bronze. I dont get it.
