The State of League

Things aren't in a way that players generally find satisfactory or enjoyable and, true to their nature, Riot has forced changes into the game with minimal or no input from their community. And in the middle of an active season no less.

As it stands, all of the changes made to the game have resulted in the following.

Top lane has long since been made inconsequential in most matches and it is frequently oppressed by ranged champions with few to no changes made to compensate its melee inhabitants.

Jungle has been modified into a farm simulator in which its players cannot afford to interact with the teams nearly as often as they once did and when they do arrive in lane, it's usually to tax lanes of minions just so they can keep up with their team.

Mid lane is and has been dominated by melee assassins for a while now. And because of their advantage in gold and experience combined with their mobility, melee assassins can provide superior ganks to jungle.

The damage creep has stripped the support role of many of its support mechanics and the upcoming nerfs to shields will only make things worse all around for everyone involved. Even healing and shielding supports prioritize building damage over actual support items because the meme "death is the best CC" has fast become the reality of the game.

ADC's rely more heavily on their allies to guard them against incoming threats, a task made nearly impossible with the damage and mobility creep that the community feared long before it reached this state. An ADC cannot at all function effectively without reliable allies, making solo queue a living nightmare for this position.

It's just bad all around for everyone at this point and all because Riot wants to stir the pot with their own ideas on how to make the game different. Not better, but different. And they've even publicly stated that player opinion even from the top performers is hardly ever taken into account when they make their decisions. And, instead, base their choices on how they can change the game so that it feels new to everyone while essentially remaining the same.

If you were expecting me to post suggestions on how to improve things for everyone then you will be disappointed. I merely wanted to state my observations.
