Azir needs a shake up: A rant from someone who doesn't play him

I want to like Azir. He's got an interesting kit, great skins, and one of the cooler passives in the game. But some Challenger-level try-hards mopped the floor with a bunch of bronzie mid landers (I am a bronzie, so I can say this) so now he's nerfed.

Why? How? I don't know/care. The point is he's apparently no where near as good as he was, all the while maintaining a fairly high skill curve with limited applicability. Azir has become the French Horn of League. But why leave him that way?

Riot said they had that "let's make all the big plays champs" phase, and it's over now. I get that, I'm glad it happened and that it's over. But why leave it that way? He's pixels, not your second born child - a do-over is possible! My only request is that you marry the skill curve to the ceiling. If he's going to be difficult to master, can we make him OP? And if he's not, that let's make some of his moves a little more forgiving. Or, and god forbid, we find a way to make him viable as a mage support.

Anyway, that's my thought.
