I am a high gold Mid/Support main. Typically mid i'll play either zilean or heimer. I do see how he has a decent win rate, because he is very rarely picked mid if at all, but laning with him has been a frustrating learning experience. I cannot lane with him, last hitting seems atrocious and his mana goes very quick early game. Any advice on how to get better? I realize that I am very useful late game with ult/speed up/slow/AoE bomb, but want to improve early.
Well, practice on the last-hitting. Get a tear early, and manaflow band and scorch equipped and hope your enemy no blinks. The best thing to do is to shove your enemy laner with early harass.
Your bomb range is deceptively far, and in a pile of minions, they prioritize champs, which is what you want. When they want to engage, read their movements on where and when they will appear. Is it an Akali that just hit you with her E and is barreling towards you? Use bombs on yourself. Leblanc used her dash and is about to blink back? Use bombs on where her initial position was. Any other mage? Be faster than them and stun them, and then (if not in kill range) run away. It’s a hit-and-run style of playing.
