I want to be excited for season 8 but I can't

I just can't get excited for new seasons anymore, mostly because I hate the first few months of seasons so much I don't even want to play the game. Placements and rank soft resets make sense and I am sure some players enjoy it. However, I am one of those older players who can't stand it. I hate how 10 games can have such a large impact on your starting rank. I hate being placed in bronze or like silver 5 and playing all mid gold/plat players trying to rank up. Nothing exciting about being xxx rank I have been 1000 times but having to play harder games trying to rank through it. In the end you will reach your true rank if you play enough games, but I am past the wanting to spam game after game after game to get there. Mostly because if you do have bad placements then you have to play a bunch of low quality games just to get back to the rank you were. I am at a point where I prefer playing less games that are higher quality rather than spamming a bunch of low quality games.

So basically that and the fact Riot balance team doing the norm and just fucking the game up. I will admit I have had fun playing this preseason... but it honestly has nothing to do with preseason changes and everything to do with actually finally being in my mmr range, playing new role, and since it preseason not giving a crap about rank so less stressed in games. The actual preseason changes (besides jungle catch up exp I like the change) have made the game pretty shit overall. I don't get how you f up implementing new runes/masteries. Like...... ugg lmfao. So you adjust damage for champions right.... to match what we lost from old runes. Only problem is.... a lot of us used to you know... have armor/mr runes as well. Huh..... guess you guys somehow forgot about that. And yea... there is what 1 page that gives you a little armor/mr you can take... but how many players really use that page? Besides supports or straight tanks? So what we have now is players doing the same (lets face it it's more) damage at the start of the games but on average having what 15 less armor and like 10 less mr so probably what 10% less armor/mr? I just love laning and having full health and dying instantly at level 3 or 4 by being ccd for 1 second on a gank or just playing vs an assassin and going for cs once.

Well it been a fun last few weeks regardless of how much these new runes/masteries make me rage inside sometimes. Going to finish up getting gold in flex 5v5 now that it doesn't matter lmfao.... and then probably having to look for new game to play again. I just can't stand the start of seasons...... I am too old for that crap.
