Champions like Udyr and Volibear really need help

I'm sure there are lots of champs that need help, I'm just fond of these 2 personally.

But seriously, how often do you see an Udyr or Voli? What do they even do? It's like RIOT has totally forgotten that they exist.

I mean yeah, they're not very hard to play, but tons of powerful champs are easy. Malz, Janna, Pantheon, etc. Give my jungle beasties some love rito!

The problem with Voli and Udyr is that their kits are, from a game design perspective, toxic. There are only two possibile interactions between another champion and their kits. The first is that you stay far away enough and neither of them can do anything to you because you're out of range. The other is that you get super fucked up by their kits when you're in their range (assuming they were strong or fed). Even champions like Darius have counterplay and outplay potential. You can make sure you don't get hit by the blade of his Q to ensure he gets practically nothing out of landing it on you.

These champions that only have these binary interactions with other champions are the worst part of the game, and it's the biggest pain point when arguing for buffs to champions of this nature that are weak. I 100% have no clue why they are suddenly deciding to give Volibear a new lore identity with Ornn's release when a VGU is nowhere even in sight for him. They're picking NOW to do that, when Swain, Evelyn, apparently Xin Zhao, are all ahead of him on the list?

The thing about Udyr and Voli is they're intentionally kept weak, because their kits are too binary. Riot has to be incredibly careful about giving them even the most minor buffs, because when they're too powerful, they're way too powerful.

It's incredibly difficult to get a balanced, middle-ground for their kits, because they're super oppressive when they're strong. Anyone who somehow ended up behind vs them in lane will know exactly what I mean.

Their entire existence is based off of getting into melee range of you with ms boosts. Nothing fun there.

They are juggernauts. If they manage to get thru the metric fuckton of CC then they will absolutely destroy you. However there is rarely a point at which they will be able to do this. If you want to fix this problem then there should be a version of Dota's Black King Bar (which provides CC immunity for a few seconds) in League. However this would need to have lots of tank stats on it for it to be not broken and abused by other classes. Also the juggernauts will have to be nerfed accordingly.

An Udyr gameplay update was on and off the Pbe for a while, and is currently being worked on by a designer (should pop up again for another test any patch now.)

Malz and Janna are not easy like Udyr Voli (and I wouldn't say Udyr is easy)
