Power Creep single-handed destroyed this game, tuning down its strategy

And turning it into a fighting game.

Compare any champion from nowadays (with 1 or 3 exceptions) with a season 2 or 1 champion. You know what happens when you give too much power to a champion or drastically increases his complexity? The game, which has many other aspects beyond the champions such as map and objectives, ends up losing its strategy and becomes all about combat: snowball increases - since the champions are stronger, they can do more with the same amount of gold in less time - , time to kill decreases, everything becomes flashy and the ""boring strategy"" that made LoL a success gets simplified.

This has being proved through the last years. Threads and threads about how the game became too fast, how people are dying too fast, how strategy is getting boiled down to who kill first or first turret/baron gimmicks, even to this very day we have a thread about those chronic problems. Strategy was transformed from a core aspect to a gimmick: easily dodge the herald's attacks and solo it for a gimmick turret gold if you're ahead or the enemy team has no vision; do Baron in less than 10 seconds because you can; """"customize your playstyle with the new flashy runes"""" jk just ctrl c ctrl v from leagueofgraphs the runes who are best abused by your champ. And it's not only here on the boards, in-game and on other communication ways; you may not noticed, but your brain did; the game isn't the same anymore.

It's not a local, isolated problem. It's not only the runes. It's YEARS AND YEARS of clear and consistent changes that lead up to this point. It wasn't a mistake. Nerfing Duskblade will not solve power creep, neither nerfing one or two champions/runes; damn, it wouldn't even scratch the surface of this problem.

And now they are even removing blood particles from the game. I wonder why.

I cannot go ahead and say that Riot lost all my respect, because LoL still marked a good portion of my days, but it's running thin. I no longer see Riot as I once saw.
