Petition to Rework Vlad.... Again
I know a lot of people hated old Vlad. If he survived Lane to level 9 or god forbid got ahead he would just grind you out of Lane with very little opurtinity for most champs to do anything against it. But the new Vlad is not the answer. It doesn't just allow counter play, it practically garuntees it.
So let's look at old Vlad's issues. He lacked mobility, cc, and early survivability. If he got ahead though his scaling on his passive and his E passive made him a wall of unkillable sustain.
For starters mobility. let him go into pool and then reactivate it to enter into an ally or even enemies blood. He could travel in them for 6s Ally, 3s enemy while also slowing them. Then jump out. Like a reverse Tahm Kench.
Second emphasize survivability over sustain. Vald is a Bruiser not a mage. He's an Olaf, Jax, etc. He wants to be in the middle of a fight duking it out, spraying Blood on everyone. The problem exists that when he does that and then heals back to full throughout the fight it feels unfair. Up the ratio of his HP to AP conversion significantly, and maybe remove the AP to HP conversion all together. So that he can actually build the 2 dmg items and 3 tank items that bruisers like to build and still do good damage.
Make his E hit everyone again and on a .75 ramp up time (like Darius), bc dafuq, AoE dmg is what Vlad does. He needs to be able to reliably get it off at least 75% of the time. That's his thing. Remove the janky slow on both Vlad and his enemies.
Make his healing completely conditional. It costs 10% HP to use E? Fine, E now coats people in his blood. if he Qs an enemy who got hit with E then he gets 10% HP back. Only works once per E. Other wise his Q is just a damage ability and doesn't heal anything or heals significantly less. If E kills an enemy it immediately refunds the 10% without having to Q an enemy.
Keep the healing on his ult. Ditch the 3rd Q mechanics. Ditch health cost on W.
Now youve got the tanky bruiser AoE fighter that Vlad is supposed to be. He still has his health cost and recovery mechanics that are iconic to him only they essentially make his abilities cost nothing and provide slight healing once you get a Spirit Visage instead of ungodly healing. He has mobility on a long cd to keep up with the massive mobility creep in the game. And he can actually be forced out of Lane or teamfights over time bc he doesn't heal back up for an insane amount, just like every other Bruiser.
A typical build of this Vlad would probably be rylais, liandrys, spirit Visage, Randuins (or deadmans, or sunfire) and warmogs.
