Petition to Rework Vlad.... Again

I know a lot of people hated old Vlad. If he survived Lane to level 9 or god forbid got ahead he would just grind you out of Lane with very little opurtinity for most champs to do anything against it. But the new Vlad is not the answer. It doesn't just allow counter play, it practically garuntees it.

So let's look at old Vlad's issues. He lacked mobility, cc, and early survivability. If he got ahead though his scaling on his passive and his E passive made him a wall of unkillable sustain.

For starters mobility. let him go into pool and then reactivate it to enter into an ally or even enemies blood. He could travel in them for 6s Ally, 3s enemy while also slowing them. Then jump out. Like a reverse Tahm Kench.

Second emphasize survivability over sustain. Vald is a Bruiser not a mage. He's an Olaf, Jax, etc. He wants to be in the middle of a fight duking it out, spraying Blood on everyone. The problem exists that when he does that and then heals back to full throughout the fight it feels unfair. Up the ratio of his HP to AP conversion significantly, and maybe remove the AP to HP conversion all together. So that he can actually build the 2 dmg items and 3 tank items that bruisers like to build and still do good damage.

Make his E hit everyone again and on a .75 ramp up time (like Darius), bc dafuq, AoE dmg is what Vlad does. He needs to be able to reliably get it off at least 75% of the time. That's his thing. Remove the janky slow on both Vlad and his enemies.

Make his healing completely conditional. It costs 10% HP to use E? Fine, E now coats people in his blood. if he Qs an enemy who got hit with E then he gets 10% HP back. Only works once per E. Other wise his Q is just a damage ability and doesn't heal anything or heals significantly less. If E kills an enemy it immediately refunds the 10% without having to Q an enemy.

Keep the healing on his ult. Ditch the 3rd Q mechanics. Ditch health cost on W.

Now youve got the tanky bruiser AoE fighter that Vlad is supposed to be. He still has his health cost and recovery mechanics that are iconic to him only they essentially make his abilities cost nothing and provide slight healing once you get a Spirit Visage instead of ungodly healing. He has mobility on a long cd to keep up with the massive mobility creep in the game. And he can actually be forced out of Lane or teamfights over time bc he doesn't heal back up for an insane amount, just like every other Bruiser.

A typical build of this Vlad would probably be rylais, liandrys, spirit Visage, Randuins (or deadmans, or sunfire) and warmogs.

The problem is... at this point I no longer have any faith that Riot has the OBJECtiVITY to rework this champ.

I mean if they looked at Vlad and thought to themselves ''How can we rework this champion in a way that is fair while solving some of his issues AND making it so people will want to play him while staying true to who he is...'' for MONTHS...

and then came to THIS conclusion in 6.9?

Where they nerfed all of his numbers AND made it so that more than half of his damage on paper isn't actually available most of the time because of the excessive counterplay mechanics...

I'm not sure giving them a few more months is going to make any difference. I mean, at this point someone should consider a Leveraged Buyout. Riot needs new leadership.

Vlad should stage a coup.

IMO, they need to design him closer to Ryze.

With how Vlad functions, all of his abilities should be extremely selfish overall. His ult is the only ability that does not mesh with this 'carry mage' pattern, and only serves to keep him weaker atm. With what it accomplishes now, its not worth having the 10% amp hold back his overall power when it comes to balance.

Vlad's lack of mobility is part of what makes him. I think its a perfect flaw considering what he's supposed to do. However, he lacks usability to accomplish anything when they're slightly outside of his range and anywhere closer (this is not okay). A self-haste (not the current pathetic one) on Q (similar to Ahri's), would help a lot. I don't mean empowered Qs. I mean every single Q. Keep in mind that if he wanted to be aggressive, this would make his intentions extremely telegraphed. More-so than now.

Yes, Vlad's weakness is mobility, but currently its so bad that its preventing him from functioning. Keeping him with effectively no mobility and giving him a true gapcloser are both equally as bad. He needs a significant MS buff on his Q so he can actually utilize his kit when chasing, kiting, going in teamfights, etc.

You have to remember, Vladimir's first 2 Q's have a reduced heal rate, and his third one only has an increase when used on an enemy champion, in a 0.5s window when it's clear to them when to backoff, so it never lands.

This is what Riot intended to be the case. BEFORE THEY REMOVED SPELLVAMP.

Vladimir's sustain is literally 1/10th of what it used to be; his damage is crap, he has no escapes, and he slows himself when using an ability which is blocked by units so it can just be hidden from. They made it so people playing first-time against him can figure him out by level 3 and beat him using little to no effort. He's been designed to appeal to retards who want to be good at league within minutes and it worked.

Vlad's dead, end of story. Riot doesn't care to appease us because vlad players only account for 0.0000003% of LoL players. We're a dead race and we'll be ignored.

The champ your describing isn't Vlad anymore.

His new kit gives him all the tools he needs. It just needs better numbers and E needs to lose its cast time (not channel, but it still has a cast time which for a spell you're supposed to use while moving is a bit dumb)

They really need to increase the duration on Q's empowered by 0.5 seconds, return the CD back, make entering and exiting the W feel smoother, Increase the range of vlad's E by 50 remove the outside warning of vlad's E he already raises a ball enough to show that he's using it to enemies, and last but not least the ulti should scale to 20% dmg amp at rank 3.

But a total rework is unneeded.

IMO they just need to buff Vladimir's numbers. The rework is fine, but he just doesn't have the damage he used to.

Coming from one of the most experienced vladimir players in the world,

Vladimir's identity wasn't analyzed by any of the rework development team. They generated a few half-assed changes to everything about him, not a single one of these changes contributed to his prior playstyle and his place in LoL has been lost forever now. They might rework him to be like Sion or Darius but the vlad you once knew is gone forever. Riot won't be able to please any legitimately-ranked vlad mains because this rework was the most insulting action I've ever experienced from a staff team in my history of online games. They literally spent five minutes dusting off their toenails at their computer while skipping through a single vlad montage vid on youtube before deciding what to rework, then instead of designing it from the ground up, took Urf the Manantee's skills from 2011 and copypasted them into the coding for Vladimir then viola you have this blood stain on a pantie who will never see the spotlight of day again.

Vladimir will never be competitively played again; his purpose in league has been surrendered, and on a stone slab his heart was pierced and his presence in League of Legends sacrificed forever in order to make way for patch 6.9 where every mage was given vlad's pre-6.9 sustain and vlad's was revoked.
