I really hope he does or they change him somehow so he can be playable right now. Every time I play him, I don't feel like a hunter, I just feel like the weakest champion on the rift.
you're thinking of a "revert", and there are a couple of things that should be said.
Riot has stated that they are alright with Rengar's new role as a diver. Personally, I hate it. To most people, especially Rengar mains, there is a general dissatisfaction towards the shift in Rengar's roles without any clear reason.
While new rengar is, well...bad, he's still an improvement from old rengar tbh. This is from a gameplay perspective of course. There is very little chance that Rengar will be reverted simply because his old self was terrible as well.
He won't get reverted, no matter how many thread you guys make about Rengar. Riot even stated it that his old kit was toxic gameplay wise and he won't get reverted. Stop posting about it on the forum and find a new champion.
Personally since they nerfed him twice in the last few patches (from what I observed), since they removed his free QSS off of his W, building full lethality is pretty much suicidal. Without armor, Rengar is neutered*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*
