Kai'sa Ult is Underwhelming

The name of the Ult "Killer Instinct" suggests that the ability should be employed to dash in for the kill, but instead of any damage component on the ultimate, Riot opts to integrate a defensive feature!!!??? Moreover, the shield synergizes poorly with some of Kai'sa's other abilities. To begin with, in team fights, most of the time your enemies are marked with plasma by hard CC, so why need a shield after a dash onto the enemy if the enemy is CCed in the first place? If the enemy does not have plasma marked by hard CC, then Kai'sa has to snipe someone with Void Seeker in order to use her ult, but wait, the range on her W is 3000, whereas it's 1500/2000/2500 for her ult, meaning that she can't follow-up after "seeking out" an enemy who is out of range.

The skill is just weak and underpowered for an ultimate. Compare this to Nocturne's ult, which has a range of 2500/3250/4000, a 1.2 AD ratio damage component, and cannot be interrupted. Oh, and a global blinding effect to boot. Also, there is no requisite condition to use the dash, and Nocturne can press W to get a spell shield upon landing (better Synergy).

If you are landing max-range Ws, you need to move forward for a second or two to get the engage. For all of us normal people that aren't trying to hit people with the very tip, the combo works just fine.

Giving a marksman hypercarry both target access and tankiness, the two things they're supposed to not have, is a scary and powerful thing.

Kai'sa's ult is not for starting off the fight. It's for ending it. When enemies are trying to escape after being CC'd or getting hit by you, you can follow them, finish them off, and retreat to your team. If you get ganked from behind, you can warp behind your attacker and keep retreating. If you use it right at the start of a fight, you will get focused and die.

It allows you to engage from a distance with her W, put yourself in the perfect spot to get a single-target Q barrage off, and go ham with your attack speed stim after you've channeled from safety. How is that not synergy?

As much as i agree with what you're saying, as i just started playing her... Her kit ties in for insane burst finishers if you're not an idiot. That said, i would prefer something else considered she has invisidash. It's a finisher that doesn't work in a teamfight unless yer fed.
