@Riot: The new Cassiopeia is better than the old one, don't change her again.
TLDR: Stop whining about how your champion's playstyle is different, it's for the better. How about you take the time to actually learn how to play her, so you realize how much better she is now. There are tips at the bottom.
I've never been able to main a champion before, I've always gotten bored playing the same one over and over again, but that's not the case with Cassiopeia. I've played her pre-rework and I've played her post-rework and I can safely say that post-rework Cassiopeia outclasses her former in every way possible. People are crying for some sort of poison mage, which old Cassio was, the problem is that damage over time is extremely inconsistent and weak, and will never be as viable as burst or sustained damage.
I don't think anyone has actually taken the time to learn her, and that's the problem. The new Cassio, like the old one, has an extremely high skill ceiling, and also a very high skill floor. She is not an easy champion to play, and all the Cassio mains out there don't want to give in and admit that they need to learn her again. Instead, they all whine to Riot.
For all those people willing to actually give her more time, heres some tips:
- When stacked to 200, her passive grants Cassio 25% CDR, when combined with masteries, this gives you 30% CDR. To be stat efficient, we need an item with 10% CDR to round it out to 40%. The absolutely perfect item for this is Will of the Ancients, something I've barely seen anyone get.
- Optimal build is: Dorans Ring -> Tear -> WOTA -> Zhonyas/Deathcap/Rylais/VoidStaff, throw in Sorc shoes with Distortion in there.
- Use your E to last hit in lane, it's longer range than your auto attack and the cost is refunded + 3% surplus when you last hit a minion.
- Cassio's best match ups are vs skill shot champions, but if you want to win the match up, it's up to you to use the movement speed from Q to kite and dodge skill shots. The champion doesn't play the game for you.
