If you put decent amount of time practising him you will learn to see opportunities for engages, catches and just solo kills.
a) You can save allies by hitting your stuns and being a threat to enemy, who thinks "fuck this, I'd rather live than feed this guy/give him even more tempo ". Or well.. just kill him before he kills your ally
b) Initiations are pretty straighforward where you again, need to hit stuns well. His passive allows your ult to slow down enemies or your ult allows to catch one of enemies, which triggers either a teamfight or as minimum 1 dead enemy.
c) Laning phase is one of the most important time. At this point to be impactful in early mid/ mid game you must snowball it. And we again go back to hitting your stuns. You must hit your stuns, as it can decide if enemy carry dies , if you or your carry dies, or if enemy is harassed hard. Your must-do thing (no need to mention not feeding) is to zone out enemy from farming, giving your carry a farm advantage. Your 2nd task is to harass enemy so hard ,that they will either need to recall or die for farm, their jg will not be a threat if enemy carry is either afraid to come to you or comes to you and get oneshot (at this point it is aaagain important to stun enemy jg).
d)
teamfight advantage is very well known. All you need to do is cast your abilties and obviously hit them effectively. Hitting stuns here is also important if you see enemy focusing you or your carry. There is Q-E-R-W combo, but tbh from my experience I rarely manage to hit it, as you actually need to start your ult asap before your team dies. So my combo is usually R-W-E and save Q for safety or use it if you feel you and your carry is safe for Q cd time.
I didn't cover roam and catches, because it is a bit more advanced topic, plus you being succesful as
and
should be aware of it.
