Do you think it's time for some new summoner spells?

Hello everyone!

I wanted to make a discussiuon about new summoner spells, why they would be good for the game and some ideas for new summoner spells.

Why would this be good?

We have gotten to a state of the game where a lot of champions are suffering from the core mechanics of this game. Range-/Mobility-/CC-/DMG-Creep have rendered a whole class useless (Juggernauts) with some excpetions.

A Darius can't get to anything Too much shields and peel for an ADC makes an assassin useless because they need to go trough 3x the ADCs HP pool Champions with not much cc in their kit get dove to oblivion

This leads to 20-30% of the Champion pool being just straight up bad or even troll picks Volibear

So without literally reworking 30 champions to a viable state I suggest we could add some summoner spells that help exactly these champions out! Summoner spells that fill a niche that these champions need

Ideas for new summoner spells

  • Disarm: Keeps a champion away from auto-attacking for 3 seconds (2 seconds for melee) Cooldown: 220 Seconds Cast-Radius: 300

I already saw a lot of ppl wishing this mechanic to be in the game and I surely don't know why not (And no this shouldn't be a F-yourself to ADCs, this is also devastating for champions like Xin / Kayle)

  • Bind: Bind yourself with an enemy champion, this champion is slowed for 20-80% dependant on the distance between each other (the further away the less it slows) Cooldown: 200 Seconds Cast-Radius: 350 Min-Max slow: 0 - 1000 (If greater than 1000 then it is just stays a 20% slow) Duration: 5 seconds

This help Juggernauts stick to a target as soon as they are ontop of a high priority target

Stifle (an old summoner spell): Silence an enemy champion 3 seconds and remove all buffs

Now I know Riot doesn't like the whole "silence him and kill him before silence wears off" and I have to agree once a zed puts this on you after he hits 6 you are doomed.

So I would suggets this version of Stifle

  • Stifle: cast this on a champion to interrupt all channeling effects/shields/buffs and cancel every other following shield/buff for 3 seconds Cooldown: 260 Seconds Cast-Radius: 350

If there is a FU button for Enchanters (Exhaust) there should be one for assassins too. This summoner doesn't counter heals so Lifesteal still works, Vladimir still can heal, Soraka/Sona still can heal etc. This summoner is here so you actually have a time-frame where you can kill an ADC in a "protect the ADC" comp, where there isnt a front liner and the ADC just tanks everything because he has 5k HP through shields (Galio/Lulu Ult is also getting canceled by this, just like a Nasus/Renekton ult). Or if you dont want to deal with a Xeraph shield + Barrier + Ori shield on herself.

Fortify (also an old summoner spell): Give allied turrets +100% attack speed and invulnerability for 7 seconds globally.

This summoner spell would make turrets actual turrets once again for 7 seconds. Not only is it good when you are getting dived but also when you died and there is a huge minion wave crashing into the tower and 3 enemy champions are ready to take it down. Activating this should demolish the wave enough for them not to be able to get it after the invulnerability turns off.

Now also I would change this to a more healthy playstyle

  • Fortify: Give an allied tower +150% attack speed and invulnerability for 7 seconds Cooldown 250 Seconds Cast-Radius: Global

This summoner spell would not be necessary if the turrets were actual turrets but there isn't a single change in sight so....

(I also generally would like to have Revive and Clairvoyance back, never knew why they removed it)

What do you think? Is the current pool of summoner spells enough? Should there be more niche summoner spells? Do you have another idea for a summoner spell? If so im very interested to know!
