How to balance Gangplank
Since his rework Gangplanks barrel dmg was way too high. Riot already tried to nerf it. But imo theyre not thinkin this through. Lets take a closer look at the patch history.
It started with 80/110/140/170/200 bonus dmg to champs +60% armor pen With 5.17 the delay between casts was increased by 0.25 seconds and the armor pen reduced to 50% With 5.18 the bonus dmg to champs got reduced to 60/90/120/150/180 and the armor pen to 40%
But that doesnt solve the problem. Is it hard to hit a barrel? No. Is it hard to hit a 2 barrel chain? Maybe sometimes.. at least not as easy as 1 barrel. Is it hard to hit a 3 barrel chain? Yes, when the enemies are careful its rly hard. What do you get for accomplishing a 3 barrel chain? Nothing, except range..
How do we fix this?
Start by removing the 0,25 sec delay. It makes barrel chains retardedly clunky. Then punish Gangplank players who use 1 barrel to poke his enemy on lane with less dmg and reward him for hitting longer chains.
1 Barrel Chain: 30% Armor Pen and 50/75/100/125/150 Bonus Dmg to Champions. 2 Barrel Chain: 45% Armor Pen and 60/90/120/150/190 Bonus Dmg to Champions. 3 Barrel Chain: 60% Armor Pen and 70/105/140/175/210 Bonus Dmg to Champions.
Every chain longer than 3 is unrealistic and nothing but luck if it should happen. So the dmg is capped at the 3 Barrel Chain dmg.
