Eve Changes you'd Like to See?
Just figured I could put out a post asking what people like and don't like about new Eve since feedback is nice. Also because I think I could love it so much more with just a few changes, and know other people probably want to see some things change too.
Overall, there are just a few things that are making this Eve feel too different to me.
Demon Shade: The visuals for her stealth mode should kick in at level one even if her stealth doesn't just because it lets you know it's up and preserves the theme of her assuming a human facade when she enters combat, but showing her true form out of combat. Having this, would make her feel more like current Eve just cuz she detectably changes out of combat.
Hate Spike: This is the big change. I can see what they were going for with this ability. The initial skillshot lets you proc charm from range, and the three hit bonus damage synergises with the triple tap. My problem is, that extra stuff makes it no longer feel like Hate Spike. It does too much and has too much going on now. It's not just the simple spike move. There's the lasher toss, the mark, and then the spikes. My desired changes...
Fires a line of spikes in the target direction, dealing magic damage to enemies. Hitting a unit lets Evelynn reactivate Hate Spike 2 more times, firing spikes through the nearest unit instead and prioritizing the target Evelynn's attacking or enemies that are cursed or charmed by Allure. Hitting a monster partially refreshes Hate Spike's cooldown. Landing an empowered Whiplash on a champion fully refreshes Hate Spike's cooldown. Up base damage and scaling.
Allure: Wouldn't change a thing.
Whiplash: Seeing as how this used to be Eve's big damage move, its current iteration feels pretty lacklustre. Max hp damage is decent but it being the main use of the ability just feels unnatural to me for a champion that's supposed to be an assassin. Letting her be a little more effective against tanks is cool, but I would hate to see old Ravage become a move that only feels truly impactful on tanks. Plus the fact it's an aoe from stealth not only makes it feel different from current Eve's single target screw you ability, but takes from her power budget. Also this move was fun because it gave attack speed to continue harassing the target, so I want to preserve that identity for it. My desired changes...
Whip a target with your lashes, dealing magic damage, gaining movement speed, and applying on hit effects. Entering Demon Shade refreshes the cooldown of Whiplash and empowers its first use from Shade. Flat damage and range is increased on first use from Shade, and using from Shade causes your next three attacks or abilities vs the target to deal bonus magic damage. (Moved from Q)
Last Caress: I like it. I'd like it more if you could choose not to blink back, but a I assume that feature is built in to the design of the ability, and that for some reason they wanted that forced blink to stay.
