Will Kalista be Getting Buffed Soon?

Kalista (The Spear of Vengeance) - Champions - League of Legends

Kalista I played Kalista yesterday in full knowledge that she currently has one of the lowest win rates right now (at least in gold elo) I wanted to give her a chance and it was working for a while, at least in the beggining. There were a lot of things i noticed about kalista that could be the reason for her not being so successful.

First off is her passive, Kalista's passive allows her to jump a short distance after each auto attack or q and this distance scales with boot tier. This does have some mentioned disadvantages. Her animation cannot be cancelled, this means that as soon you start the animation you are stuck in that position for a brief time and this can make you vulnerable as if you are being stunned before each attack. Also if you try to jump after every attack you will attack significantly slower than your indicated attack speed. The second draw back is that her basic attacks only do 90% damage, this is plain and simple, this damage reduction does not help her win at all. She will also will miss her target if she loses vision of them before the attack connects, this is not so common but definitely makes an impact on the game. I feel like if Kalista didn't have a passive in the first place she would be significantly stronger.

The next thing I wanted to talk about is the reliance on her Oath Sworn ally for her power. In the game I mentioned earlier My support that i bonded to for lag or whatever reason was not doing well. He did not stay with me, which made the passive of my w worthless. This was unfortunate because the w is a big part of Kalista's kit. Also not having your oathsworn with you makes your ultimate unusable. I feel like Kalista's power is too reliant on her ally and although I love this unique mechanic it can be insignificant with poor teamwork.

I really hope kalista becomes a more viable champion that i can pick without being flamed.

Kalista is the way she is because she received nerf after nerf due to her passive being unhealthy. It's unfortunate and I really feel for Kalista mains (Azir main here), but until they deal with her passive, she's going to stay the way she is.

Needs to be kept unviable until they rework her.

i thought the new auto thing screwing her passive up was the reason to her having the lowest winrate?

Balancing her seems incredibly easy imo.

  • Give her autos 1.0 ratio and allow them to attack targets that go out of vision. (This is a no brainer, allows her to scale relative to the rest of the adc's.)
  • Remove the damage passive on her W, make the sentinels more meaningful but not ridiculous (i.e. 3 autos to kill rather than 2) and possible replace the damage aspect with possibly a cc aspect. Slow seems to be most reasonable, say 25% scaling. You could possibly even just buff the vision control aspect of it and remove any kill potential from it (allow it to spot wards).
  • Allow her to Q mid jump again, for playmaking sakes. It's not like that was a big issue, its essentially an auto reset; something many adc's have.
  • If the stats come back and she becomes a monster, tweak the numbers on her passive dash, make it a wee bit shorter.

These changes would give her the ability to be a solo playmaker, just like the countless playmaking adc's (Jinx, Vayne, Draven), yet still have that cooperative aspect if they made her W passive a slow instead, and ofc she has her ult which SHE isn't even in control of. It isn't even as capable of making picks as Jhin's ult.

These don't seem to crazy to me, and if you ask me would make her viable but not annoyingly god-like. It would just give adc's another option in champ select.

Nobody wants to see any champ become god-tier always picked always banned meta. But I genuinely love playing her and I would love if it wasn't so hard to keep up with her as it is with most other ad's.
