Bots are ruining ARAM

My latest game of League of Legends was completely ruined by 6 bots in one game. The enemy team had 2, I had 4. Once I realized, probably 5 minutes into the game, that my team was loaded with bots, I decided not to continue fighting and let the enemy team win so I could get on with my life.

This has been a growing problem, and I don't know how to even begin fixing it. a Captcha code before every single game? Randomize the Accept button's location? I don't know. The reality is, though, that one of the few modes I still played regularly, after getting tired of being yelled at for not camping bot lane, or not going tank, or not picking a certain champ, is dying, and for every one good game of ARAM where you have a team of 5 players on each side, you have easily 10 games where bots make up at least a few players on each team.

We foresaw this when they killed Dominion but the botting was target at Twisted Treeline.

Twisted Treeline -> Co-Op AI games (Specifically intermediate games) -> ARAM -> ???

The only place to go above ARAM is normals and ranked. Don't worry though. Riot will give an honest attempt at deleting bot accounts when it gets to the ranked level. Until then, keep reporting every bot you see and patiently waiting on Riot to ignore carefully consider your reports and debate whether or not that account is indeed a bot account and dole out punishments accordingly.

Where are all these bots at? I keep hearing about ARAM bots but I've only ever seen 1

Eventually, your MMR will rise to where you won't get matched with them anymore. I had to slough through bots for weeks when I started playing back in 2014, though. I did make some friends among the few actual humans I met out there in the bot wasteland, however.

Riot's policy seems to be to never say anything about this, since, if more people know about IP farming botwares, more people will use them. So they're trying to keep it all a secret that this is even happening and act like they have no idea why anyone would claim this is happening in the rare cases that hey do reply to a post such as yours.

I keep seeing posts about bots in arams. But like i've played a few hundred at least since their inception, sometimes playing several a day if i felt like it, and i've never once seen a bot in aram.

Is there something i'm missing?

I have yet to play against a single bot in ARAM.

As Der Lindwurm stated already: Bots in any modes tend to loose most of their games, resulting in their accounts to have a minimum MMR. This means, the higher your MMR is, the less likely you are ever going to meet one in your games and vice versa. Players that are put into queues with these bots constantly tend to have a low MMR and while losing these matches where they have bots on their team, they stay on a low MMR and are quueded with them again -> a vicious cycle.

The thing with scripted botting accounts is, that Riot only bans these in waves so that it's harder for the scripters to identify what variables led to the detection (besides human reports). However this leads to them playing hundrets of games or even more before they are banned and obviously ruin the experience for any players they meet.

I think your point of captcha codes is valid, but I can't say how that would work in the client and if that even makes sense with how these fake accounts are coded to play because they might be several accounts playing at the same time at the same computer somehow. It's a business after all.

However I could think about empowering the report quality for players with an additional option to report these accounts. Add a "scripted bot account" to the report section outside of just "unapproved use of 3rd party programms". If the system then bans these accounts, they can't simply identify this variable because it's based on human players and their common sense.
