Ryze Still Has Such a Low Winrate...Why?

So i'm not one for looking at win rates and stuff but when a champion that i think is clearly good has a 45% win rate then i just wanna know what exactly is wrong with him. He's not like syndra level of difficulty to play, from my experience. I hate to say it but his combos are mildly easy to learn and he isn't that hard of a champion to pick up, mastering him is a whole new level of play. As a ryze main, i always find myself dealing the most damage the majority of games and his carry potential is pretty large considering the items he builds and the scaling on his abilities. He kinda is meta? He is never really out of a meta because if you know how to play him you can face anything really, thanks to his W and stuff. If thats not bad enough, he's getting a relatively small nerf in 7.1 i think to his shield

Also, just wanted to ask if anyone thinks there is such thing as what i call "community backdrop" It's basically where a champion that has been out of play for a long time will take a decently long time to still go back in the game, realisted it with yorick, he was reworked but so far i don't think i've seen more than at least 5 yorick players, that was back when he was reworked, i don't really see any now to be honest

You need to look at the win rates based on experience level. Overall his win rate is like 45% but people who are Ryze mains have a 60% win rate on him mid and a 76% win rate on him top. The problem is that there's a lot more inexperienced players playing him which drives his win rate down (inexperienced players have a 35% win rate with him top and a 41% win rate with him mid.)

He's hard to pick up, but once you get used to him he's broken.

people below diamond suck d with him that's it. he needs nerfs tbh. just because some ppl suck with him doesnt mean he is fine. played him a bit on a smurf buttblasting someone in .9 seconds and then running off with 580move speed? no no senor.

Ryze is still a mid range damage carry who when focused will definitely die in a team fight who can also be blocked by the tank in the front line provided no one is dumb enough to group that closely together for longer than two seconds so he's reliant on his team to an extent to be able to make full use of his damage because he's prone to also being poked down. He isn't the best at solo taking towers and his core items still delay his major power spikes as well.

His ultimate has play making potential, but without proper coordination or timing it can potentially turn the situation against you especially considering how telegraphed the ult and it's location is. It provides virtually no real damage so in a lot of solo queue matches you may end up using it for nothing more than chasing your opponent down.

His teamfighting is rather bad. He can't get his shield off in 5v5s as easily as he could in smaller fights and that takes away a lot of his power. Some duelists can also make use of that fact and kill him.

Nothing is wrong with Ryze. He's strong. He just has a high skill floor and super high skill curve.

He's a short range mage in meta of high mobility assassins and long- range casters.

the majority of his winrate probably comes from people playing him top and beating the shit out of almost every meta top laner.

Because he is kind of "hard" and takes some time to learn https://i.gyazo.com/f9bc099040921cf8be723e897b63ea7b.png

Glad Ryze shield is getting nerfed, that is way OP! Ryze item 3165 item 3040 item 3027 item 3020 item 3089 item 3135 literally let him trade with me as Darius item 3071 item 3068 item 3065 item 3111 item 3156 item 3102 with 25 lethality in runes and he out traded me, absorbing every AA, Q and W. When my health got low, I hit him with a fully stacked R after trading for like 15 seconds (we were the last 2 remaining) and he still had 100% health after killing me. Notice he has 0 armor!

That was my late game build made just to survive against Ryze.
