what happened to the new "simple" champion?

a while ago someone created a thread about how all new champion releases are complex and dynamic. and that is true. they have very complicated kits that aren't as straight forward as press that or get that stat or this damage. its a little more dynamic for better or worse.

meddler however said that we will see a new champion this year that will be simple sort of like older releases. is that still the plan?

because all of the champions that got released after have a little less straight forward design and more hybrid in terms of class and strengths and weaknesses.

450 champs don't make a lot of RP I guess :(

Post-rework warwick is a good example of a well-designed simple champion I think. I can sum up his entire kit in a sentance or two, yet he still has an engaging play-pattern/fantasy, and counterplay.

"High sustain damage tanky diver/drain-tank who heals himself at lower health, chases down and deals more damage to enemies at lower health. Has a delayed AoE fear, and most importantly, a long range jump that supresses, deals damage and heals Warwick if it hits."

But yes, I agree with you. I enjoy making that sick mechanical play as much as the next guy, but I don't spam this game 8 hours a day, and I can't focus on learning map awareness, game flow, etc., at the same time as keeping track of 12 different mechanically unique aspects of my champion's kit. That's why I main champions like Nasus, Warwick, Malphite, Pantheon, or Soraka. A new champion that fit roughly that level of mechanical complexity would be a welcome change.

As a casual note, Urgot's rework seems pretty decent from a simplicity standpoint. I mean, the passive would take a bit of getting used to, but it's hardly some Yasuo level crap. XD

New champs need to bring something different to justify their existence. We already have simple champs

As far as I can see, complex champs are new releases, and vgus are kept simple.

One of the frustrating things is that the new champs that have "complex" kits also tend to mean they're overloaded as well. So then they're OP until they're nerfed into oblivion.

I thought that was last year with AurelionSol?
