Viable Mid-Laners?

So 3 champs have caught my eye lately, 1 being a round for awhile and 2 being played on streams and becoming recently popular. The 3 champs i have in mind are Lissandra, Ezreal AP and Xerath. I like them all and have them all, but i would like to know which out of the 3 is more viable than the others and can produce better results, i prefer champs that take mechanics and not easy champs to master. I am aware that these 3 tend to take good mechanics and i would like to know which is better for the current mid and which would be worth taking time to practice, if anyone has any other suggestions for mid champs that are good right now, but not super easy to play please let me know, i used to main LeBlanc mid last season and was extremely successful with her.

Xerath is the only viable pick in that list.

AP Ezreal is like a Leblanc that scales up slower, but is more useful in team fights and at poking people down. Honestly, I love dueling a LB when I'm AP Ezreal, because it's so much fun. I would definitely try him out.

I main mid, and main AP Ezreal right now. I came from Ziggs, so I designed my build around spamming ability's. I've got mana regen runes and CDR runes. I rush Lichbane, then get CDR boots and Deathcap asap. I know other people like to build him more like LB, where you fire your combo and it deals tons of damage, but takes a while to reload.

Xerath is OK, but his ult usually leaves you more frustrated than satisfied. If your opponent has any ability to maneuver, you're only likely to get your first shot to hit. His lack of mobility makes him a juicy target for assassins.

Haven't played Lissandra personally, but I have a friend that really liked her a while back. He stopped playing her, but I don't know if he just moved on to other roles or had a falling out with her.

Agree on Xerath. He fills in the wave clear / range CC mid role really well. Ezreal is a tough one to AP because he has terrible wave clear and brings no CC to the team. Your teammates are going to have to compensate for that somehow through jungler/support picks.

Lissandra is really good, but probably better as a top lane AP pick than as a mid.

AP Ez is a gimmick thats not really viable. The best Aps have some form of CC in their kits.

Also the pros run EZ ad when they do take him mid.

liss and zeraph. if you want a more tanky and better CC kit go with liss. if you want an AP carry type go with xerath. and both have a nice way of managing mana

Ezreal mid can be good but please, build him AD, it's more viable. AD Ezreal has quite a few viable builds, none is best, depends on the game. There's Triforce into standard AD, which is about the mid game powerspike, but kind of lackluster late game. There are builds using tear into muramana, great damage item late game but buying mana sets you back mid game (great choice when you're doing well this game). There are even less conventional builds called blue Ezreal, which drops traditional ADC items for muramana and iceborn gauntlet. This build is about massive poke and kiting utility, not so much damage.

Last I played Ezreal mid I went double doran's blade, tear into manamune, static shiv.... I was very fed. Had real good poke and solid dps. Generally the blue build doesn't use static shiv, it uses iceborn gauntlet. You could use both for a super poke oriented build, but that's 3 items without something with more sustained damage like Infinity Edge or Last Whisper (traditional adc items)

Xerath is very strong mid lane champ. Pure poke/siege champ.

Lissandra fairly good too, you can play Liss top as well. She's about initiation/counter initiation and anti melee spells. High utility version of Annie. Not like most mages as far as range goes but very good initiator

tbh, I dont like xerath ;/ I havent played him myself but I seen how all his stuff can miss ad Its not a champ I would want to count on for that reason That and its really easy to exploit his CDs if ur a zed or fizz

I'm more of a fan of Ziggs than Xerath instead of 3(?) small shots.... you got one bigass mega death bomb ult instead its way more satisfying

He's got excellent siege and wave clear like xerath his bomb does aoe damage, can go over minions and have a maximum range that surpasses's nidalee's spears

semi reliable escape(?) or can be used on enemies to mini stun them, knock closer to your team, just disorient them
