Hello and welcome to the thread. Malthazarrd here - a Season 1 Kennen main and advocate for him with many ways I hope to see him nerfed/changed

First off. I was disappointed with his buff as a whole way back when they changed his ult to always proc every .5 seconds at every level, a huge damage boost, and hitting all 5 targets. Not because I thought it was bad for him, but because I knew they'd have to bring him back to balance eventually after giving a viable champion such a buff out of nowhere. Furthermore - an attempt at balancing him was made by reducing his W range...which effectively made him more noob-friendly champion that focused primarily on dive. (by giving him shorter range-of-effect you need to stay closer to targets to make a play).

Kennen is currently out of control. his damage and his CC are really high - and his built path let's him take damage.

To nerf him - what would the community like to see? We know that the ult damage/scaling NEEDS to be nerfed. too much damage for an ult that can hit the ENTIRE enemy team and stun them. Then again it's ult/passive that does this so it uses up a champions very essential passive to give it that effect. I still think his ult damage needs to be reduced. After that point many will see him as unplayable, so how do we give him back something instead of just taking his damage away? Tell me what you think

P.S What would I like to see? Any combination of the following -higher AD scaling on his W's passive -higher attack range (they nerfed this back in S2) -give him the range back on his W

Well right now his itemization is overly strong giving him free access to way too damage utility and tankyness item 3152 item 3116

As for his ult damage I agree it seems way over the top. Kennen might be a prime exhaust target but that doesn't make it right (imo exhaust should be nerfed sometime in the future too as it's an overlypowerful anti-dive summoner once a lot of the game's bs gets fixed). Kennen this year was changed to strike one target many more times (for reduced dmg, but the cap used to be 3 hits versus 1 enemy). The new number added up looks quite ridiculous as it greatly buffed his 1v1 power and aoe before level 16 teamfights.

That's not considering W damage which'll hit you too or E + Q.

Ideally I don't use ult after laning phase to fight 1v1. One reason Rylias is a core item for me is so I can deter the pressure of enemy duelists saving ult (and its stats and utility are overly generous)

I would like to see his ult nerfed. It's simply way too powerful for pressing flash R and will always be a problem until you nearly remove his normal abilities. There are so many [poor] fotm Kennen players now and don't weave his abilities in lane well at all but it doesn't matter because he's still got a safely strong laning phase top and can simply press R on his opponents with some help later.

I don't want him to be more of an ult bot. It feels good being able to beat somebody without it. And maybe something else has to give a little too. Not sure.

One thing I know his energy bar feels like a non existent factor and while he feels fun to play as his counterplay in lane feels limited and his Q is barely relevant in the "consistent" skill orders. Not that his Q is horrible... but it is a more difficult style.
