Is renekton a late game champ now?

I won lane as against but since they had who is too broken, game was essentially over (it was norms). So i get renekton to 1v1 me in Baron pit, I had , he had and we both had Tabi. He won with half hp remaining, without dodging any of my abilities. Is it meant to be that broken cause its not like that champ has bad engage into team fights and can tank for much longer than camille . Did they shift renekton`s power towards the late game or something?
