12/11 PBE Update: Tentative Balance Changes

So I just read what Riot Maplenectar mentioned about champion changes for 8.24b. I can agree with most of the champion/item nerfs but I don't understand why Alistar Is getting nerfed. The preseason has been dominated by champions like Brand Zyra and other mage supports. Currently, he is sitting at about 49% wr and an 8.4% pick rate. Comparing him to someone like Thresh who has a 51.6% wr and almost 30% pick rate why is the only support being nerfed Alistar ?

People don't like a Tank that can actually soak damage like they're supposed to.

out cry on reddit because zven got killed by Alistar in 10seconds likely prompted this

he does need nerfs but as you mention so many other things need to be gutted first
