The trend of nerfing champions and buffing/creating runes/items needs to be reigned in.

Every season it seems less and less like I'm playing a champion, and more like I'm playing a vehicle for my runes and items. When I play Kha'zix I'm not playing Kha'zix, I'm playing Duskblade. When I play Janna I'm playing Redemption/Ardent Censer. There's an increasing feeling of power creep among the community, but for the most part Riot nerfs more often and harder than they buff. Meanwhile Riot is constantly introducing and buffing shit like Duskblade, Redemption, Essence Reaver, and soon Spear of Shojin. Champions in general have weaker kits and rely more on broken keystones and strong item synergy. Hell the meta is basically decided 70% by which items are OP and which champions abuse the actives/passives the hardest.
