Ranked Solo/Duo Queue at the Bronze Level
I'm clearly here to act as if I'm better than the people in Bronze seeing that I am one of them. There are some things however that have been really getting to me and I was wondering if there was some light that anyone could shed on they matter. From the time Season 7 started I've been running games in Ranked Solo/Duo at the Bronze Tier. I have gone up to Bronze 1 and into my promotion series to Silver but have never quite had the luck in successfully winning it. As i bounce up and down the tiers I've noticed that there are a lot of people who literally have no idea what they are doing whatsoever. The only thing that they seem to insist upon doing is fighting and trying to chase down kills. There are people who place wards here and there but it seems that the fundamental idea behind how to win a game of League isn't quite clear to them. I'm not in the slightest bit mechanically gifted. In fact I'd go as far to admit that I'm trash although that's really not saying much seeing as being in Bronze is clearly indicative of this fact. With that being said I'd still like to think that I know what to do ...at least at this level when it comes to winning. Now it's easy for someone who is really good at the game to say you're there because you deserve to be there and while that is true nobody has ever come out with a guide on how to climb with inferior mechanical skill. They're always just saying "get good", or something of that nature. I've been playing pretty well at my level (or so I'd like to think), but the majority of the time I get people who give up after feeding, people who just flame constantly even when they are the reason we are in a predicament, and kids who refuse to cooperate with each other. I get that being toxic isn't helping the situation but sometimes I just get fed up with people who have been playing for over 2 seasons and still have no idea what the hell they are doing. And when i check their op.gg it shows them ranked high enough to understand the basics of the game (i.e. mid Gold and up). And sure they may be boosted but here they are in bronze and feeding up a storm and flaming everyone. I guess I did go off on a bit of a tangent there. My question is : HOW DO YOU WIN? HOW DO YOU HARD CARRY PEOPLE? HOW DO YOU FIND A WAY TO DO IT WHEN NONE OF THEM IS WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU? And to the people working at RIot : I get there are a lot of people that play games casually, but League is a game with a tremendous learning curve. And people often lose interest in trying to pick it up because of how difficult it can be. Obviously there are a lot of good sources and to learn from. The casters in every region do give a lot of insight to things that you wouldn't be too familiar with or really know about unless you were a high elo player. I've been unable to get any of my friends to start playing except one who I started learning to play with. It's for that exact reason i wish to know why there are so many people who don't know what they're doing in Bronze. I mean seriously some of these people actually watch LCS or play alot and yet it never seems to translate into their gameplay. What's up with that? Sure you can say they are bad and obviously bad players make bad decisions but with many players making bad decisions how exactly does anyone ever make any progress when they're not much better but they have better decision making. Being bad at a game usually branches from 2 different reasons. Either A) You're no familiar with the game and you're learning to play or B) You're willfully ignorant and just play to play. I just find it hard to believe that being bad at something wouldn't give you the incentive to work harder to be better at it ( whatever that it may be). THESE PLAYERS ARE STILL PLAYING! They haven't stopped. They hit 30 they played ranked made little to no progress but haven't quit playing. It's ok to play for fun but how fun can it be to lose the majority of the game you play. I'm not blaming my team for me losing I am well aware it is a team based game and that i too am a part of the problem. I know i'm not good enough to carry a team to victory but I still try to learn form my mistakes by watching VODs and also by trying to communicate with my team better. Thing is I don't have any control over what they choose to and they can choose to ignore me.
