Title. Most games run fine, but sometimes randomly game will freeze at the early stages. Impossible to open any other apps/programs; only solution is to restart. Has been happening for past week; extremely annoying, and has never happened before. Been punished in-game for this; what to do?

Also, you would probably get faster, more helpful aid from a tech forum.
Lastly, its either a processor, or memory issue most likely. Not 100% sure, but freezing and unresponsiveness tend to happen within the processor, memory, motherboard triangle. That it happens a few minutes after the game starts up could also mean that the issue is an overheating issue, and possibly one related to the video card. Its more likely to be the processor though since its throttling hard to cool down to avoid heat damage.
Some things to try: Buy some compressed air in a can, open the case and blow out all the dust, cat hair, and Dorito crumbs. Close as many other programs as you can before playing (browsers, especially ones with video playing tabs like youtube). Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and open task manager and look to see whats taking up the most processor time. If its not important (google it if you dont know) end task. Google how to lower processor load. Do some of these things to try to reduce the load, and remove any unwanted thermal insulation (dust) to help keep your processor cool.
If your problem goes away, it was probably the processor overheating. If it doesnt, you may have parts dying, or other fixable issues.
Dont ask for any more advice till you have opened the case and looked to see if its dust. If it isnt, make sure you know all your computer specs (google how to know if you dont), then take all your accumulated information to something like Tomshardware (https://www.tomshardware.com/) where you wont have to wait 5 hours for someone to respond, and they will probably be able to give many very good suggestions.
