Who are some good supports that I could learn to play as?

I want to learn how to play as a better support just in case I get autofilled because the only supports I can really play are Blitzcrank and Janna. I want to know some better support champs I can learn to play as and also some builds for them.

I love Sona and Soraka personally! Lulu is also ridiculously fun because her polymorph is just so great. But it's also good to learn some tanky champions too Braum Taric Leona

Ardent supports are slowly falling out of meta (or at least not being overrun), so I think if you wanted to learn some tank supports like Braum or Thresh both provide great engage potential. If you are looking to still go the healing/shield route, I think both Soraka and Lulu are great champions to learn because they can make or break a teamfight with their ultimates. For builds, I suggest looking up some online. I personally do something like:

item 3504 item 3190 item 3109 item 3107 item 2049 item 1001

For both soraka and lulu. With the type of boots and upgraded sightstone depending on my support starting item and the damage I'm taking from the enemy team.

On hit Taric. People don't see it coming.

Rakan! Very fun support with huge engage potential. He has more ability to outplay opponents so imo its a lot more fun and technical than someone like soraka or sona. Theres a reason he was one of the most banned supports in pro games before ardent became such a strong item & made janna/lulu meta

I wouldn't recommend Thresh seeing as he's mechanically challenging to really master. If you're only really playing support when you get autofilled (or practicing for the autofill scenario) then Braum is pretty straightforward and effective. If you're looking for an enchanter, I think Nami has some great peel potential, reliable poke, and great sustain. She's great for a healing comp, a peeling comp, or a counter-engage comp. Just gotta land her bubbles.

Personally I love Sona/Soraka, but in my elo it seems like they are liabilities unless the team is doing okay. That's not something I can count on.

That high elo player says go lux/zyra, forget about sightstone unless your team is doing good, and focus on safely clearing waves.

Soroka gets a lot of love from these boards, but if you actually start to play her in ranked, you will see that you will be instantly blamed if anything at all goes wrong in the game.

Easy, strong supports:
Leona
Alistar

Morgana
Taric

Leona, Raka, Raman, ( My favorite is Tahm Kench ), Alistar and most tacky supports cause of Ardent nerfs

Sona was the first champ I bought... and I kinda sneer at her now, because her only skill shot is her Ultimate, which seems to be pretty forgiving. Her Q,W,E are all auto-target, smart-fire abilities.

Nami Bard are some of my favs. For impact on matchesI think Thresh Leona Lulu have some real game changers in their kits.
